You read the last where it says I died, right? The group I worked with, Cerberus, brought me back. At the time they were the only people interested in going after a bigger threat. It was work with them or do nothing.
I worked for them because they were going to give me the tools I needed to get something important done. In a perfect world it wouldn't be necessary.

Killing those people saved more.
[Which is the stripped down half truth version of the events that scorched the life out of Bahak - because the real answer is at least in part 'there was no one left.']
Guess its wasted luck if you dont have the skills needed for the right place and right time.

Ok
FROM: khezek.jasper@cdc.org
Why did you work for an extremist group?? Did it have some thing to do with that guy you told me not to talk to??
FROM: khezek.jasper@cdc.org
Did you really kill 300000 people???
no subject
It's complicated.
[Not an answer, she knows. Maybe a warning then.]

And yes. Leng worked for them.
FROM: shepard.lydia@cdc.org
And yes. I did.

You died?? It said you were KIA
But I dont know what that means. It means you died??
FROM: khezek.jasper@cdc.org
So you worked with them because they brought you back??
FROM: khezek.jasper@cdc.org
Why did you get to lead again after that??
no subject
KIA = "killed in action".

That sounds just like the work we are doing now.
No wonder the CDC recruited you.
FROM: khezek.jasper@cdc.org
What was the some thing important?? Your freebie?

At home we're in the middle of a losing war against something that wants to wipe out every evolved form of life in the galaxy.
FROM: shepard.lydia@cdc.org
When the CDC sent someone to talk to me, I volunteered.
[Cut and dry, though it's not something she just gives away.]
no subject
Oh
That sounds worse than what the CDC is doing.
FROM: khezek.jasper@cdc.org
Did you ask the CDC to help you win the war???
no subject
Yup.
no subject
Thats real noble of you.
All I want is to have my dragon back.
no subject
Nobility doesn't have anything to do with it.
FROM: shepard.lydia@cdc.org
I can guarantee other people asked for less.
no subject
Unselfish then.
FROM: khezek.jasper@cdc.org
You never answered why you got to lead again after you worked with the extremists.
no subject
Hard to keep saying someone's crazy when the thing they've been talking about comes out of the sky.
FROM: shepard.lydia@cdc.org
I'd faced the enemy before and managed to get on a ship that could do the job. Right place, right time.

So luck again.
[ How encouraging. But then, an insight- ]

Couldn't tell you.

You need more rations or any thing??
Extra blanket or a shower or any thing you want me to enchant??
no subject
I've got a shortage of cake for you to enchant. Sorry
no subject
I cant enchant cake I can enchant sugar. And then bake it into cake.
FROM: khezek.jasper@cdc.org
I can also enchant blades and bullets you know.
no subject
Has anyone ever mentioned how different those things are?
FROM: shepard.lydia@cdc.org
Have you enchanted bullets before? Or is this theoretical
no subject
No.
FROM: khezek.jasper@cdc.org
Crystals and small metals. Sugar and salt crystals count. Thats what I can enchant.
FROM: khezek.jasper@cdc.org
I mostly enchanted arrows but I done it on bullets before. They explode inside the target.
So instead of shooting some one in the leg you can shoot them in the leg and blow it off.
no subject
Handy.
FROM: shepard.lydia@cdc.org
Have you enchanted any of the gauss rounds here? You know for sure it works?
[Look, ammunition can be fiddly and the idea of her rifle blowing up in her hands doesn't sound like a lot of fun.]
no subject
I dont know the difference. If its small and metal I can put a spell in it though.
FROM: khezek.jasper@cdc.org
Havent had any complaints for the work I did here so far.
no subject
I'll give you a few clips. Do you need anything else to get the job done?
no subject
FROM: khezek.jasper@cdc.org
No. Just drop them off at 14.
no subject
Will do.
