There are better ways to tell someone that. And I've seen you handle things with more... Well. All I'm saying is that you're coming off harsher than I think you want to, and if you want to work some of it out, I'm free.

The simulators are good, could scrounge up some sort of game, could even just go for a run in the corridors.

Let's talk. Before you wind up listening to Javik and shoving someone out the airlock.

I'll see you there in 30, and you can help me pick. There's plenty of options, including the old standby of "storm the merc base."

But no fishtank scenario. Might have to talk to Armada about that.

You're kidding me.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
You've missed out on the best things. We'll compare notes while we take down the base. But dibs on telling you about the fishtank first, because damn is that a good story. And I'll have everything set up by the time you get here.

[And sure enough, he's got the scenario queued up and ready, along with a decent selection of weapons. He may not have his Widow back in his hands just yet, but Garrus is more than happy to settle for a generic one in a generic situation. He's even got enough time to add Blue Sun logos to the merc armor while he waits, because why not?]

[He does notice that she doesn't look half as bad as she did during the final missions, but that's not really a surprise. Not when earlier they blew through the evaluation with, in his opinion, style. And if she's in an observant mood, she might notice that he seems rather relaxed, his gestures a bit more open, and his subharmonics definitely lighter than they have been for a time.]
I figured we'd go for something more relaxing. Blue Suns mercs. At first I thought maybe we could go for Binary Helix and Cerberus bases, but there's no politics when it comes to Blue Suns.
[There are no good Blue Suns. There are good former Cerberus operatives, though. The engineering pair had grown on him, he'd been glad he couldn't eat what Gardner made, and even Miranda and Jacob had worked toward the right purposes eventually.
Garrus opens the door to the simulator and saunters in, taking a seat in the hammerhead-like shuttle.]
Went for a few traces of familiarity, too.
[The pilot looks a little like Cortez, even.]
Though I set the base model to be randomized. Adds a little unknown to the mix. Take a seat. Continue the unwinding process.

Tell you what.
[The shuttle lifts off and Garrus shifts slightly to compensate for it, while looking over the sniper rifle he's grabbed.]
You figure out how a turian is supposed to get a back massage, and I'll take you to a massage parlor so we can shoot it up. We can wear what we did when infiltrating the casino. Which you don't remember. So I'll back it up some for you.
[Garrus stands up so he can take a look at the base as they approach it. It's fairly large, and the terrain means they can't set down right next to it, but at least there's some trees and rocks they can use for cover on the way in.]
It all starts when you and Joker both get invited to the nicest sushi place on the Silver Strip. You each figure it's the other's doing. But it's a trap. And so you use our pilot, who can't really run, as bait and your way to get help. Really smooth of you.
[He's amused. He's so amused, and it reads in his body language, main tones, and subharmonics.]
You try to take the forces on, and by some accounts you're holding your own until you wind up on the glass over the place's huge fishtank. Which gets shot. And then you fall through. Should I go on?
[The rifle's up now as they begin their descent. He's watching for any flashes of motion.]

Um, Shepard-san? Someone named Tess told me to ask you about joining a training program.

Is there anything specific I should bring?

[Something does move, a lookout, and Garrus drops them. It's nice to have a Widow in his hands again, even if it's a simulated one and not his. That should come soon. He hopes.]
Neither of you figured out it was a trap.
[He can hear the disbelief in her voice. That makes this better. He's pulling one over on her by telling the truth. Also it's good to unwind, so very good.]
You kept falling. Hit a billboard or two, tumbled into some freezer storage for a place, and got contacted by intelligence analyst Brooks, who informed you someone was stealing your ID codes and wanted to kill you. You followed her guidance, being shot at by mercs along the way, to try to find your way to a car.
Meanwhile, Joker let all of us know what was going on and we started mobilizing. Liara got to you first. I would have. But Sparatus and Victus wouldn't stop talking.
[A sigh. He still hates that he wasn't able to get there sooner, even if he knows there's nothing he could have done, and that it worked out.]
Wrex got there second. Apparently he dropped down from one floor onto a stolen C-Sec car, smashing it and helping get you to safety. Gonna skip a lot of details after that, like us infiltrating Silversun Casino's security measures and office, and skip to the point where we called in everyone and started chasing after the person responsible for taking your codes and trying to kill you.
[He stops, mandibles flaring, letting the shuttle settle down as he pauses for dramatic effect. She won't buy this. She will not for a second buy this and he is having a fantastic day.]
Your clone. With Brooks as assistant.
[Garrus steps off the shuttle, so proud of himself, sinking into cover and looking back at Shepard.]
