[She's not the kind of person who makes a habit of shrugging - or if she ever was, it's something she'd mostly forgotten how to do in the thirteen years since she enlisted. But she shrugs now because she doesn't really know what to say to that. It's not a no, not a yes, just--

[His mandibles are drawn as close to his face as they can be. Congratulations on the promotion. It sounds on the level, real, but he knows what it has to cost. He's served under her for almost her entire command, and the only time he hadn't been there the Normandy got blown apart. He's been with her through just about everything, and now he's a superior officer, having to make that line clear on the topic of duty, and there's nothing he can do to soften the blow.
But there it is. There's nothing he can do.

One last matter, I'd advise against pushing her too hard on certain matters. She has an ability I am not entirely sure she is always in full control of. Strong emotion tends to undo it, particularly rage.
She can pull back as long as she is talked down from it, but the other instructors should be aware of it when pressing her.

In all truthfulness? She has never disclosed it to me, Jasper might be able to tell you a little more if he knows, and I am not sure he does. I do not know the particulars, only that is has caused her tremendous trouble and that she fears it of herself to a certain degree.
But when she... became upset with an action of mine, I think I saw it then. She grew claws, her skin changed. Seems if let go, she takes another form entirely but I only saw the beginning stages of it. She scratched me quite badly, would have done more otherwise.
